The short version

The Printol desktop app has no account, no login and no server behind it. Your catalog, your invoices, your printers and your paired apps live in one SQLite file on your own computer. We cannot read it, because it never goes anywhere.

What the desktop app stores locally

  • Catalog items, stock movements, invoices and payments you record.
  • Printer configuration, templates and application settings.
  • Paired applications: the origin, the name they gave, the scopes granted, and when they last called. This is what makes the revoke list possible.
  • A rolling log of the last 500 print jobs with their status, size and any error. Job payloads are not retained beyond the rendered output.

The file is at %APPDATA%\Printol on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support/Printol on macOS and ~/.local/share/printol on Linux. Deleting it deletes everything.

What leaves your computer

  • The update check. Once a day the app asks our release endpoint whether a newer version exists, sending its current version and platform. No identifier is attached. It can be turned off in Settings.
  • Nothing else. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter that uploads on its own, and no telemetry containing business data. A diagnostic bundle is only ever produced when you press the button, and it is written to a file for you to inspect before you send it.

What this website stores

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and has no third-party scripts other than the Google Fonts stylesheet. The playground stores a pairing token in your browser's localStorage so it does not have to ask your counter for approval on every visit; that token is only valid for the machine that issued it, and clearing site data removes it.

The download page asks GitHub for the latest release on your behalf, from our server rather than your browser, so GitHub does not see your address.

Data we hold about you

If you email us, we keep the thread so we can answer it and so the next person to ask the same thing gets a better answer. That is the whole list. Printol is free and has no account system, so there is no name, no address and no payment record anywhere — not because we delete them, but because they never exist.

Your rights

Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at hello@crawlink.com. It is removed within thirty days, and since the only thing we hold is email you sent us, that is a short job.
